Dinah joined HUBB in 1995, working firstly as a Mental Health Advocate and since 2007 as an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA). The latter role includes helping to design and run training and awareness sessions for local NHS, Social Services and Care Staff on the implications of the 2005 Mental Capacity Act. Dinah is a qualified IMCA and has attended courses on the Mental Capacity Act for Managers, IMCA role in Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and Mental Health First Aid. She is currently working towards the IMCA Diploma
Dinah’s previous training experience includes a Further Education Teaching Certificate whilst working as a FE College Lecturer, work as a (voluntary) Visiting Lecturer in Adult Literacy following a Literacy Tutor Training Course, and as a Visiting Lecturer in Personnel Management whilst working as the manager of the City of London Occupational Guidance Unit. She has been involved in counselling, careers guidance, educational and training management and policy development in both public and privatised organisations
She now enjoys the combination of work with individual clients and the opportunity to train others in some legal aspects of their roles.
