HUBB Mental Health © 2010 All Rights Reserved.

HUBB was established in 1991, the outcome of a steering group made up of statutory and voluntary organisations, working within Mental Health, in partnership with 'users' and carers of their services. The acronym HUBB stood for Havering Users Barking & Brentwood but our registered title is Barking, Havering & Brentwood Mental Health User Group (HUBB). We are universally known as HUBB, so have retained the title.
We cover the geographical area of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, London borough of Havering and residents of Brentwood, Essex, whilst patients in Mascalls Park (formerly Warley Hospital)
Our services have developed considerably over the years and we now provide a variety of functions. We offer support for people with mental health needs, and un-befriended people who lack capacity, to represent their views, particulary, to commissioners and providers of mental health services. If they prefer, we will act as their 'voice', accurately representing their views. We consult regularly with people using services to ascertain their views on general or specific matters.
* We provide independant advocacy for people who have mental health needs in both the community and in the local psychiatric hospital
* We have monthly meetings, which are open to all, for exchanges of information and sharing news
* We offer a membership to anyone who wishes to be able to vote at our Annual General Meeting, to be elected for management committee and to recieve monthly 'HUBB News'. We are developing User Focused Monitoring as the way forward for service evaluation
